Drill Selectors

Posted by on May 22, 2007

We’ve been working on a drill selector for some time now. As AJAX programming becomes more mainstream, we went ahead and developed this using that technology. The result has received positive reviews so far.

For cordless drills, you can try the cordless drill selector.

For electric, you can try the electric drill selector.

Any feedback is welcome, as well as suggestions for what selector you’d like to see built next. The technology was built flexible enough to handle just about anything we want to throw at it – I just need to figure out where to go next.

There isn’t a filter for impact drivers, if you offer them.

    Dave,

We offer them, but they’re not actually drills – hence their absence in the drill selector.

How about a filter for battery type?

    Kent,

I’m assuming you’re talking Li-Ion, Ni-Cad and Ni-MH. I may have to figure that out in a bit here. Great suggestion.

Very cool work. I was just out looking at drills as I need a bogger chuck drill for some new projects. This will help me narrow down the option and actually find what I want instead of just what’s available.

Any idea why I’m unable to access either of these drill selectors? When I click on them I get a toolbarn page with a big blank area, and no error message. Every other page on the toolbarn website works fine.

    rodd,

Sounds like you have JavaScript disabled. That page uses AJAX, and the J is for JavaScript.

If you enable that and continue to have problems, let me know and I’ll do more digging.
